More than 60 NGOs call for UN investigation into war crimes in Yemen

On Thursday, December 1, more than 60 non-governmental organizations and groups called on the United Nations to document war crimes and human rights violations in Yemen and ensure that those accused are investigated and held accountable.
These groups, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, called for a new international mechanism to be established as soon as possible to collect and protect evidence of crimes and human rights violations.
Yemen's legitimate government, supported by Saudi Arabia, and the Houthi militias, supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran, have been engaged in a civil war for more than seven years.
The United Nations has called the Yemeni civil war the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
