Protest rally of Tarbiat Modares students in Tehran

In Iran, a group of students at Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran have held a protest rally to protest the university president's policies and their welfare problems.
The students chanted slogans such as "Costs and budgets must be made transparent" and "Displaced students have no comfort," and demanded the resignation of some officials from Tarbiat Modares University.
Students were protesting that the university budget was not spent properly due to mismanagement and that, instead of being made available to students, the facilities were rented out to institutions and individuals to generate income.
The way universities are run and the selection of the Minister of Science and university presidents has been a source of disagreement between institutions and officials close to the Leader of the Islamic Republic and the government in recent years.
The judiciary and security forces have arrested and imprisoned student activists on many occasions, including during the protests in January of last year, when dozens of student activists were arrested by security forces.
