Seizure of Islamic Republic of Iran oil tanker by Indonesia

The Indonesian Coast Guard announced the seizure of an Iranian-flagged oil tanker in the country's waters.
According to Reuters, on Tuesday morning, July 11, the Indonesian Coast Guard seized the oil tanker "Arman 114" suspected of illegally transporting crude oil.
The Iranian-flagged Arman 114 was seized while it was transporting 272,000 tons of light crude oil without an oil license to another Cameroon-flagged vessel, the Stenosis. In January, another Iranian-flagged tanker was seized in Indonesian waters while illegally transporting oil.
According to the Coast Guard, the tanker (Arman 114) is also suspected of violating other maritime regulations, such as "turning off the automatic identification system, sailing without a flag, and operating without clearance in the port."
It should be noted that some international oil tanker tracking companies had also reported, following the US government's sanctions on Iran, that the Iranian state oil transport fleet had turned off its ships' navigation systems in order to circumvent the sanctions and transferred their cargoes over water to tankers of companies seeking Iranian oil.
