US and British attack on Yemen's Houthis

The US and British armies attacked Houthi military centers in Yemen.
The US and British military targeted radar centers, drone launch pads and coastal observation sites early Friday morning, January 12, in response to Houthi attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea, a US official said.
Officials from the Nasrallah government (Yemeni Houthis) condemned the attacks and announced retaliation in response. The American official who reported the attacks said in response to the Houthi government: "This operation is over, but if the threats continue, we reserve the right to respond."
Regarding their attacks in the Red Sea, the Yemeni Houthis announced that the attacks on ships owned by Israel or heading towards Israeli ports were and will be carried out in response to Israel's attacks on Gaza and the blockade of the region.
US President Joe Biden also announced the support of Bahrain, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands for the US and British attacks on Yemen. According to Al Jazeera, the US-British bombing targeted the Al-Dilmi air base in the north of the Yemeni capital Sanaa, to the west of Hodeidah International Airport and to the north of the Kahlan camp in Saada. The Abs airport in Hajjah province in northwestern Yemen and the Al-Jand area in the north of Taiz province in southern Yemen were also targeted in the attacks.
The commander of the US Air Force in the Middle East said regarding the attacks this morning: "In the airstrikes this morning, 60 targets in 16 Houthi-affiliated centers were hit by military strikes, and more than 100 missiles were used in the attack against the Houthis in Yemen."
The British Ministry of Defense also announced the arrival of four Typhoon fighter jets in Yemen. The fighter jets took off from a British base in Cyprus and refueled in the air with the help of a tanker plane to attack Yemeni military areas. The fighter jets attacked a drone launch base in northwest Yemen, a cruise missile launch base and drones in the Abs region of Yemen.
The attacks involved F-18 fighter jets from the Eisenhower aircraft carrier and the USS Florida submarine, which are equipped with cruise missiles.
The Russian government, while opposing and condemning the above attacks, which it described as a violation of the United Nations Charter, called for an urgent and public meeting of the Security Council today (Friday) to examine the US and British attacks on Yemen.
The Russian government's demand for an immediate response to the attacks, condemning them as a violation of the United Nations Charter, comes two years after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which claimed the lives of many Ukrainians.
Abdullah bin Amer, one of the leaders of the Ansarullah group, also reacted to these attacks and said: "These attacks targeted military bases in the outskirts of Sanaa and the port of Hodeidah, and Yemen will not hesitate to respond to these attacks. We have capabilities that allow us to legitimately defend ourselves."
While blaming Washington and London, he stressed that Ansar Allah will continue its operations and attacks in the Red Sea until the end of the Israeli attacks on Gaza. Abdullah Amer also added that if the US and Britain expand this war, Ansar Allah will attack the US and British bases in the region.
