Two weeks of "no information" about Narges Mohammadi's detention in solitary confinement

Taghi Rahmani, a political activist living in Paris and the husband of Narges Mohammadi, says that ignorance about the status of this civil activist imprisoned in solitary confinement in the prisons of the Islamic Republic continues.
Mr. Rahmani tweeted on Thursday, December 1, that the couple's children were once again deprived of hearing their mother's voice and "the lack of information about Narges's condition continues."
Pointing out that keeping a prisoner in solitary confinement is an example of "torture," he demanded that the Islamic Republic's security institutions be held accountable for Ms. Mohammadi's detention.
Narges Mohammadi was arrested on November 15 during a raid by security forces on a mourning ceremony at the tomb of Ebrahim Kebatdar, one of the people killed in November 2019.
Arash Sadeghi, a civil activist and former political prisoner, tweeted on November 16 that Ms. Mohammadi is being held in solitary confinement in Ward 2-A, the IRGC's intelligence security ward, in Evin Prison, and is currently facing a sentence of 30 months in prison and 80 lashes.
This civil activist and spokesperson for the Center for Human Rights Defenders in Iran was summoned to Evin Prosecutor's Office in early October of this year to serve his new sentence. On October 25, he announced that he would "defy" the sentence.
Ms. Mohammadi had emphasized in a note on her Instagram page, "If they forcefully return her to prison, she will continue to protest from inside prison."
He was previously transferred to prison on May 5, 2015, to serve his previous sentence, and was released from Zanjan Prison on October 6, 2016, using the law on reducing prison sentences.
Zia Nabavi, another civil activist, wrote on Twitter that twenty days have passed since Narges Mohammadi's arrest and interrogation in solitary confinement, and during this time, "new cases have been opened against her."
Narges Mohammadi has long been denied the right to have a passport, leave the country, and visit her two children who live in France.
