The second "Iran" yawning cub also died.

Hassan Akbari, Deputy Director of Natural Environment and Biodiversity at the Environmental Protection Organization, announced the death of the second of three Asian leopard cubs born at the Asian leopard breeding center. Akbari said: "The cause of the cub's death is under investigation and the results will be announced after an autopsy."

Akbari said: "The veterinarian treating the puppies noticed a change in their defecation habits, and with the opinion of the specialist veterinarian, it was decided to transfer the puppies to a specialized veterinary hospital in Tehran for further examination and veterinary supervision. Unfortunately, one of the puppies died on the way to Tehran."

A female Iranian hyena, named "Iran," gave birth to three cubs by cesarean section on May 11, and environmental officials announced that all three hyena cubs are female and healthy.
But the first "Iran" yak cub died on May 4, three days after being born, and the Environmental Organization announced that the cub had been weak since birth and had not gained weight. After an autopsy, the cause of its death was announced to be a congenital abnormality of the left lung and lung adhesions.

After the first "Iran" yawning cub died, while it had previously been announced that the three yawning cubs born at the Turan Reproduction Center were female, Bahram Ali Zahiri, head of the Semnan General Environment Department, announced that the two remaining cubs were "male."

Previously, Iman Memarian, a veterinary consultant for the Animal Rescue Organization, had said: "The reason for the death of the first yak cub was the incorrect feeding of the cub. Due to the lack of sufficient knowledge in breastfeeding the cubs upside down, the milk entered the yak cub's lungs and died."

He also said: "The leopard cubs were touched without gloves during the cesarean section, and the human scent on the cubs caused the mother to not accept her children. The medical team and the people selected for the cesarean section and care of the "Iran" cubs have never seen a cheetah before."

But Behrang Ekrami, a veterinarian with the Environmental Protection Agency, described Iman Memarian's remarks as "the delusions and rumor-mongering of a veterinarian."

According to Hassan Akbari, Deputy Director of Natural Environment and Biodiversity at the Environmental Protection Organization, the only cub, "Iran," has been transferred to a specialized veterinary hospital and is under veterinary supervision.
