Donald Trump becomes the 45th President-elect of the United States

Republican candidate Donald Trump has declared victory in the US presidential election.

Donald Trump and Mike Pence appeared with their families at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, to cheers from supporters and declare victory. Mr. Trump began his speech by saying that Hillary Clinton had called him and congratulated him on his election victory.

Mr. Trump succeeded in winning the votes of key and decisive states such as Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania in this election.

Usually, the new US president is sworn in in Washington around mid-January and moves into the White House with his family.

According to American tradition, after the election results are announced, the loser is the first to admit defeat and congratulate the other side on their victory. But Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta appeared among her supporters and asked people to go home, saying that Mrs. Clinton would not be speaking tonight.

Donald Trump has previously expressed concerns about voter fraud, saying Tuesday morning while casting his ballot in Manhattan, New York, that if the election results go against his wishes, “we’ll have to see what happens.” He has previously said he would only accept the result if he won it.

Trump was born in New York City and his father sent him to military school at the age of 13. Donald Trump earned a degree in economics and took over his wealthy father's construction company in 1971.

His inexperience in politics, his derogatory remarks about women, and the ambiguity of his tax record were the targets of criticism from his Democratic opponent during the election campaign.
