Rozgar Beigzadeh Babamiri sentenced to 15 years in prison

The Court of Appeals upheld the 15-year prison sentence of Rozgar Beigzah Babamiri, who was arrested during nationwide protests.

Rozgar Beigzadeh Babamiri was arrested in Farvardin 1402 in connection with the nationwide protests of 1401 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison on charges of participating in a murder during the nationwide protests of 1401.

The hearing of his case was held on January 23, 1403. In addition to this case, Rozgar Beigzadeh also has another case on charges of "rebelism" that is being heard in the Urmia Revolutionary Court. Now, according to published reports, his sentence of 15 years in prison has been confirmed.

"Gino Beigzadeh," Rozgar's son, published an article in which he wrote that the 15-year prison sentence for his father was confirmed by the West Azerbaijan Court of Appeals, and the aforementioned verdict was communicated to Rozgar Beigzadeh in prison by the Urmia Judicial Execution Branch.

The number of people arrested during nationwide protests or for expressing their opinions or views, and the issuance of long-term prison sentences on trumped-up charges, is a sign of the intensification of the repressive approach of security institutions towards political and ideological prisoners, especially during nationwide protests.
