Iran News

Whispers of a coup by the IRGC are heard.

Susan.S. FCNN News Agency: The possibility of a coup by the Revolutionary Guards has long been a fear in the hearts of many Iranian patriots. With the US withdrawal from the JCPOA and the return of sanctions, this possibility has become stronger. Because there is no hope that the leaders of the Islamic Republic will comply with human rights laws and abandon support for terrorist movements and groups to protect the interests of the people.

However, with Khamenei's aide's explicit statement that the country would be better governed without a government, alarm bells have been raised about the growing possibility of a coup in the country.

Safavi, a former commander of the IRGC who is Khamenei's military advisor, made this announcement yesterday at a meeting in Shiraz, stating bluntly, "We are currently facing problems in running the country. The government has taken the wrong path. What is the fault of the leader? The people have elected this government."

This military advisor to the leadership in Iran, who is also the power behind the scenes in the IRGC, expressed this view and placed all the blame on the government and the people who, according to him, made the wrong choice. In a way, in these words, the electoral power of the people was questioned. This could be a suitable justification for the seizure of power by those who are approved by the powers behind the scenes in Iran. It does not matter that this transfer of power is accompanied by force and popular opposition.

Of course, there is no doubt that until now the main power at the top of the regime has been in the hands of these behind-the-scenes figures, but making this matter public will expose the country to open and serious unrest and looting.

According to FCNN, some Iranians abroad are concerned that even some protest movements could be a tool in the hands of the Revolutionary Guards. Several of them, in an interview with FCNN, expressed hope that people would enter the arena with full vigilance to demand their demands and would not unwittingly and unknowingly become tools in the hands of potential coup plotters.
