Woman who sang for tourists in Abyaneh faces legal action

Following the publication of a video of a woman singing in the village of Abyaneh in front of tourists, which was welcomed by the audience, the Isfahan Provincial Prosecutor announced the opening of a case against this person.

Ali Esfahani, the prosecutor of Isfahan, told Tasnim News Agency on Tuesday, May 21, stating that a preliminary case has been filed based on a report from the Public Security Intelligence Police and that the Natanz prosecutor is pursuing the matter: "One person and a group of people violated the norms in this process, and the main person is being prosecuted by the judicial system."

This is despite the fact that the publication of this woman's singing video on social media was met with a warm reception from users, who considered the event "one of the beauties of Iran."

Women's singing is banned in Iran, but in recent years, many videos of women's private singing practices and performances have been published on social media.

In recent days, the Isfahan prosecutor had also declared women's cycling in public spaces "forbidden," which was met with widespread criticism.
