Sanandaj; 3 citizens arrested following Nowruz celebrations

HRANA News Agency – On Monday, April 2, following a raid by security forces on a Nowruz ceremony in Sanandaj, three of the organizers of the ceremony, Sohrab Jalali, Jamal Asadi, and Fawad Enayati, were arrested.

According to HRANA news agency, citing Kurdpa, on Monday, April 1, 1402, three citizens were arrested by security forces in Sanandaj.

According to this report, the identities of these citizens are Sohrab Jalali, Jamal Asadi, and Fawad Enayati.

The arrests came after security forces raided Nowruz celebrations.

As of the time of writing this report, there is no information available about the whereabouts of these citizens.

Fawad Enayati was arrested in October 2019, during protest rallies related to developments in the region, along with two other citizens named "Faramarz Shariati" and "Mobin Khosravi." He was temporarily released after completing the interrogation process and posting a bail of 300 million Tomans.

He was then sentenced to 10 months in prison and 74 lashes by Branch 104 of the Sanandaj Criminal Court, presided over by Judge "Omid", on charges of disturbing public order and peace by participating in illegal gatherings. After some time, he was sentenced to two years of suspended imprisonment by the Kurdistan Provincial Court of Appeal.

On Monday, August 26, 2020, his flogging sentence was carried out by Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Court.

Jamal Asadi was also summoned and interrogated by the Sanandaj Police Intelligence Service on Tuesday, March 7, along with a number of citizens.
