Three independent pensioner organizations criticized union and living conditions in Iran

Three independent pensioner organizations criticized the rising inflation, the sharp decline in people's purchasing power, and the spread of poverty and destitution in a joint statement on the eve of International Workers' Day, May 1, and Teachers' Day, May 12.
The Iranian Pensioners Council, the National Union of Iranian Pensioners, and the Pensioners' Union Group noted in their statement that the pensions and wages of pensioners, workers, teachers, nurses, and other wage earners are several times below the poverty line.
They accused the government and the ruling political power of blocking the path to free expression and pursuing demands, and of considering making demands a crime.
These organizations wrote: The government, parliament, and those in charge have no will to increase salaries and create a balance between living costs and wages and pensions.
The statement, referring to summonses, prosecutions and case files, imprisonment and prison sentences, emphasizes that the cries of workers, teachers, retirees, and the working masses will not be silenced.
