Moderna: Our vaccine's effectiveness is likely to last two years

The CEO of Moderna said on Thursday that the company's COVID-19 vaccine Tweed will likely protect recipients from the coronavirus for up to two years.

Stefan Bansel, however, said that he had not yet reached a definitive assessment on this matter.

He said the vaccine is also effective against the mutated strain of the virus in Britain and South Africa.

According to Mr. Bansel, the pharmaceutical company is capable of producing between 600 million and one billion doses of the Covid-19 vaccine this year.

The Moderna vaccine has recently received approval for use in the European Union.

Currently, several pharmaceutical companies in the United States, Europe, Russia, and China are working to produce a coronavirus vaccine.
