Seminarian Beaten by People for Admonishing Women Over Improper Hijab

Conscientious citizens assaulted a seminarian who had admonished women for not wearing proper hijab, beating him along with other men and women present.

It is the Nowruz holiday period, and those who command the good are present in all cities to admonish unveiled women and girls and confront them.

Basijis, seminarians, and plainclothes officers acting under orders from Ali Khamenei, who had declared to confront improper hijab, have been tasked with admonishing women and girls who have removed their hijabs since the start of nationwide protests, and to prevent them from going without mandatory hijab.

Conscientious women and girls who ignited the fire of revolution are present in the streets without fear and with courage, without mandatory hijab. In this context, a seminarian along with his companions who were engaged in admonishing women over improper hijab, was not only confronted by the person he had admonished, but other men and women in that area also came toward the seminarian and beat him to make him understand that a woman is not alone, that their clothing is only their own concern, and that no one has the right to interfere with or admonish Iranian women and girls.

This seminarian told reporters from the hospital: “We were in the area of the ice-making gas station when we saw a woman with uncovered hijab, and I and my companions admonished her, which caused a confrontation. There was a woman and a man, but then several others came from the other side of the street and attacked us.”

This action demonstrates that no girl or woman in Iran is alone anymore, but rather has thousands of brothers who cannot tolerate the injustice inflicted upon their sisters and deal severely with those perpetrating such wrongdoing.
