Civil activists arrested in Tehran released

Narges Mohammadi, Ahmad Reza Haeri, Pouran Nazemi, Vida Rabbani, and a number of other civil society activists detained in Tehran have been released. These citizens were arrested by security forces yesterday during a protest rally regarding recent developments in Afghanistan.
According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, on the evening of Wednesday, September 7, 2021, civil activists detained in Tehran were released.
Narges Mohammadi, Ahmad Reza Haeri, Pouran Nazimi, Vida Rabbani, along with a number of other civil society activists, were arrested by security forces yesterday during a protest rally regarding recent developments in Afghanistan.
The gathering was violently dispersed by security forces. The mobile phones of a number of protesters were confiscated or returned on condition that the videos and photos taken were deleted. It is said that some Afghan citizens were also among those arrested.
Ms. Nazemi and Ms. Mohammadi were recently indicted by Branch 2 of the Evin Prosecutor's Office, along with seven other civil society activists. These activists were arrested on July 10 during a rally in support of the people of Khuzestan in Tehran and released hours later.
