Nowruz celebrations in Sanandaj; Number of detainees increases to 12

On Monday, April 2, 2020, nine citizens were arrested during Nowruz celebrations in Sanandaj. Including these citizens, the number of detainees increased to 12.

According to HRANA news agency, citing Kurdpa, on Monday, April 1, 2021, nine citizens were arrested during the Nowruz celebrations in Sanandaj Children's Park.

According to this report, the identities of these citizens are Abed Khorshidi, Keyvan Zandkarimi, Sahand Barzanji, Arash Shakiba, Khaled Hosseini, Jamshid Farzi, Fardin Peymankar, Keyhan Kakekhani, and Keyvan Mahmoudi.

As of the time of writing this report, there is no information available about the conditions and location of these citizens' detention.

Following the security forces' raid on the Nowruz ceremony in Sanandaj, three of the organizers of the ceremony, Sohrab Jalali, Jamal Asadi, and Fawad Enayati, were also arrested yesterday.

Also, 75-year-old citizen Batoul Azimi and 14-year-old teenager Ariana Salimi, who were arrested yesterday during the ceremony, were released today, Tuesday, after posting bail and obtaining a written commitment.
