American official: A common axis has been created between the United States, Europe, and the Persian Gulf countries regarding Iran

Daniel Benaim, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, revealed in an interview with the Arabic network Al-Hora that a new mechanism has been established between the United States, Europe, and the Persian Gulf countries to address global concerns about Iran's regional activities and its nuclear program.

According to Middle East In 24, which published this news, Banayem confirmed on Monday in an exclusive interview with the US-owned Al-Hara TV channel that this mechanism is being discussed during the visit of an American delegation headed by Robert Malley, the US special envoy for Iran, to a number of countries.

Benaim said the purpose of these trips is to send a strong message to the world that "America and its main allies in Europe" and "its close friends in the Middle East" stand together, and "we stand together to send a clear message to Iran and anyone who supports Iran in this process: You must address the nuclear issue and you cannot differentiate between us, and you must work with us together to address both nuclear and regional issues."

The American official added: "Countries in the region, many of which are in private talks with Iran, are important stakeholders in the issue of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons and deserve to be consulted, and they have ideas and recommendations that could improve US policy."

According to this report, Robert Malley is in the Middle East and Banaym will join him in a few days.

In an interview with Al-Hurra, Benaim described Qatar as an exceptional partner of the United States and emphasized that the United States would consider the country's requests to receive drones and F-35 aircraft.

He also said that the sale of F-35 aircraft to the UAE is moving forward, while an understanding is being formed regarding the guarantees related to the deal.

The American official is scheduled to attend the Manama Dialogue this week. He said his message at that meeting will be that the United States is in the region to stay and has strong and stable partnerships with countries in the region that have been built over decades and is willing to continue those partnerships for decades to come.

The American official said that the United States' role in the region is not limited to military forces, and that the United States uses diplomacy to reduce tensions and disputes.

Regarding US diplomatic activities in the region, the official said that 1.4 million people from the Middle East have come to the United States to study, and they are a key part of the link that connects our countries.

Regarding Syria, Benaim said that the United States has made its position clear on normalizing relations with Syria and is concerned about the signal that these efforts send. He said that the United States does not intend to normalize relations with Syria.

He also said that US-Saudi relations are stronger than they seem.
