Nazanin Bonadi calls for a halt to executions in Iran in support of Amnesty International's campaign

Nazanin Bonadi, an actress and human rights activist, posted a message on her social media account in support of Amnesty International's campaign calling for a halt to executions in Iran.
In this message, he shared Amnesty International's request to send letters of protest to the Iranian embassy at the European Union headquarters in Belgium.
These protest letters are addressed to Mohseni Ejei and call on the head of the Islamic Republic's judiciary to immediately stop the execution of imprisoned protesters in Iran.
Along with the link to this online campaign, Nazanin Bonadi shared part of the text of the Amnesty International protest letter on her account. The text reads: “At least seven people in Iran have been sentenced to death in connection with the nationwide protests, and dozens more are at risk of execution.”
He continued: “The Iranian government has denied protesters the right to a fair trial, and has subjected many to torture and other ill-treatment, including flogging, electric shocks, and death threats and sexual violence.”
The actor and human rights activist added in another section: "Amid a surge in executions since late April, on May 19, Iranian authorities arbitrarily executed three tortured protesters, Majid Kazemi, Saeed Yaghoubi, and Saleh Mirhashemi, who had been wrongly convicted, in Isfahan."
Amnesty International has asked everyone to send this text or their protest letters to the Iranian Embassy at the European Union headquarters in Belgium and demand a halt to executions in Iran.
The text is in English, but the organization says letters of protest can be sent in any language to the Iranian embassy in the European Union. The organization wants letters of protest to be sent by July 23.
Majid Kazemi-Sheikhshabani, Saeed Yaqoubi-Kardsofla, and Saleh Mir-Hashemi, the defendants in the “Isfahan House” case, were executed on the morning of Friday, May 19. The three were accused of murdering two Basij members and a police officer. This was despite the fact that they and their families had repeatedly denied the charges. The three defendants also said that they were forced to make televised confessions after extensive torture.
A US State Department spokesperson previously stated in a written response to a question from the Persian service of the Voice of America regarding the Joe Biden administration's reaction to the execution of the three defendants in the "House of Isfahan" case: "We condemn the execution of Majid Kazemi, Saleh Mirhashemi, and Saeed Yaqoubi by the Iranian regime in the strongest possible terms and, together with the Iranian people, we share the grief of the families of these three."
The spokesman stated: “As we have said before, it is clear from this behavior of the regime that it has not learned any lessons from the protests that began in September of last year. It is not surprising that many young people in Iran are demanding change or are leaving the country in large numbers.”
