Currency and coin rates increased in Iranian markets

The exchange rate and gold coin prices in the Tehran market increased rapidly, with each US dollar selling for around 14,200 Tomans.

According to Khabar Online, on Sunday, March 29, Tehran exchange offices sold each US dollar for 14,150 tomans, but free market dealers announced the selling rate per dollar between 14,200 and 14,400 tomans.

The rate of one euro also approached about 16,000 tomans. This increase occurred while the foreign exchange market had been stable for some time and the exchange rate had remained almost constant for some time.

News agencies also reported that the price of gold coins also increased in the markets, exceeding 5 million tomans.

A member of the Chamber of Commerce told ILNA News Agency that recent political news, the tightening of sanctions, and the halt in oil purchases from Iran were the reasons why capital was drawn to buying dollars and coins, which caused prices to rise.
