Exchange Rates and Gold Coins Rise in Iran’s Markets

Exchange rates and gold coin prices in Tehran’s market experienced another increase, with each US dollar selling for approximately 14,200 tomans.

According to Khabaronline, Tehran money exchangers sold each US dollar for 14,150 tomans on Sunday, the 8th of Esfand, but dealers in the open market reported selling prices ranging between 14,200 to 14,400 tomans per dollar.

The euro rate also approached approximately 16,000 tomans. This increase comes as the currency market had been stable for some time, with exchange rates remaining relatively fixed.

News agencies also reported that gold coin prices rose in the markets, surpassing 5 million tomans.

A member of the Chamber of Commerce told ILNA news agency that recent political news, intensified sanctions, and the halt of oil purchases from Iran were the reasons for capital being drawn toward buying dollars and gold coins, which caused price increases.
