Dr. Mostafa Mehraein: Reforms in This System are Impossible, a Revolution Will Definitely Occur

During a debate, Dr. Mostafa Mehraein spoke about the impossibility of reforms in the system and the occurrence of a revolution.

Dr. Mostafa Mehraein holds a PhD in sociology from Tarbiat Modares University and is an assistant professor at the Encyclopedia Research Institute and the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies.

A video was released today on social media showing a controversial debate by Dr. Mehraein on the state radio and television (IRIB), and his remarks in this roundtable discussion led to the immediate issuance of an arrest warrant for him by direct order of the Tehran prosecutor at the same organization.

In part of his remarks during this debate, he said: “I definitely predict that there will be a revolution, there will be violence, all of this will happen. I can say with complete certainty that the idea of reforms is invalid. If the government changes from Ahmadinejad’s government to a government of moderation, or from Mr. Raisi’s government to Mr. Pezeshkian’s government, is something special supposed to happen? No, nothing will happen. These are all holders of power and they are all people who have a master, and they are all servants and subjects of that master. In fact, Mr. Pezeshkian said this himself – that I have come to implement what the master says.

The problem of this society is that they have made one person a master and given him the right to everything and no one questions him, and all members of society have become his subjects and servants. No, we are all masters! One person sits up there and to Mahdi – now why Mahdi, because he prays and worships and recites night prayers, but anyone can claim to be a guardian.

Notice why they use the word ‘master.’ Why don’t they say the name, they say the master commanded?! This means spreading the power of one personality throughout all of society, so that people fall silent and step back and withdraw the moment they hear the word master, why? Because the master said so! Because the master commanded! And one must act according to the master’s views. This small word ‘master’ has encompassed the entire scope of this society.”

Dr. Mehraein’s controversial remarks in the IRIB debate allude to the fall of the Guardianship of the Jurist government. Social media users also responded to this controversial debate, declaring: “The system is disqualified. This system has trampled on the blood of martyrs and spilled the blood of people. People have no more hope in the Guardianship of the Jurist government because this government is the rule of Satan over humans.”

Some others stated: “Soon a line of those apologizing and people repenting from this revolution will form in the country. People, rise up! The smell of spring is coming.”

Other users declared: “All crimes are on the head of this master. We cry out long live the Shah. This system and its agents are living their last days, the struggle continues and the victory of the Iranian people is certain, inevitable and undeniable, Khamenei will turn so we will turn!”
