Civil activist Narges Mohammadi summoned to return to prison

Narges Mohammadi, a civil activist and human rights defender, who was temporarily released from prison two weeks ago to undergo coronary artery surgery, must return to Qarchak Prison on Tuesday, March 8, to serve the remainder of her sentence.
In an interview with Radio Farda, political activist and husband of Narges Mohammadi, Taghi Rahmani said that Ms. Mohammadi's lawyer has been informed of her return to prison, and according to judicial officials, this civil activist should return to the worst prison to serve her sentence.
Pointing out that doctors believe that Narges Mohammadi will have a "longer recovery period," he says that during her time in prison, the civil activist has suffered from other illnesses, such as paralysis and muscle spasms, which she did not suffer from before, and coronary artery disease is another illness that has been imposed on her.
Referring to the pressure exerted by security agencies on prisoners, Taghi Rahmani says that Narges Mohammadi had to go on a hunger strike in prison to be able to talk to her children, and that the judiciary is "trialing the family" in this situation and is taking revenge on the prisoner to make him obedient and tame.
Ms. Mohammadi was arrested on November 15 during a raid by security forces on a mourning ceremony at the tomb of Ebrahim Kebatdar, one of the victims of November 2019. After 64 days of imprisonment in solitary confinement in Evin Security Ward 209, she was transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin in late January.
On March 1, Taghi Rahmani announced in a Twitter message that a final sentence of eight years and two months in prison, flogging, and social exclusion had been handed down to Ms. Mohammadi in Qarchak Prison in Varamin.
Narges Mohammadi, in another case whose verdict was finalized last October, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison and 80 lashes.
In an interview with Radio Farda, Taghi Rahmani said that this 30-month prison sentence was because Narges Mohammadi filed a complaint against the prison director, but her complaint was rejected, and in return, the prison director's complaint against Narges Mohammadi was investigated: "That is, the prison director insulted, insulted, beat her, and filed a complaint."
According to Taghi Rahmani, Narges Mohammadi also does not consider the sentences issued to be fair and will file a complaint both inside and outside the country.
