Fereydoun Majlesi's reaction to the appointment of Masoumeh Abad as Iran's ambassador to Finland

Former diplomat Fereydoun Majlisi reacted to the appointment of Masoumeh Abad as Iran's ambassador to Finland.

Fereydoun Majlisi, while pointing out that the resume and background of Masoumeh Abad, who was previously the head of the maternity ward at Najmiyeh Hospital, are irrelevant, said: "Iran does not have a presence in the international arena that would require them to send a professional diplomat on a mission to convince investors in Finland to invest, ask for their support, develop trade with Iran, and enjoy their support in politics and provide reciprocal support."

He also continued his speech with sarcasm, saying: "Embassies are relics of the past that have been spent on buying houses, and if no one lives in those houses, they will be demolished; so how much better it would be if a woman lived there so that she could approach it with more taste and, if private parties were held among the city's Muslims, she could prepare more appropriate food."

"I don't know if we have Islamic and non-Islamic births, but if we do, she can help as a midwife with the Islamic births of believers there as well."

Masoumeh Abad is a prisoner of war from the Iran-Iraq War. She received her doctorate in reproductive health from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran and was also a third and fourth member of the Tehran City Council, whose name was on the famous list of astronomical properties and who benefited greatly from the astronomical property table. She initially denied acquiring property in the Ajoudanieh area, but then acquired property in the sacred area of Ardebili. She is the sixth female ambassador to Iran after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
