An 18-year-old Baloch student was arrested by security forces after criticizing Qassem Soleimani.

Yousef Singla, an 18-year-old Baloch student from the village of Khoshabadgo in the Konarak province, was arrested by security forces.

According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, this Baloch student was arrested at his home on Thursday, January 9, while there is no exact information about the charges or the reason for his arrest. However, according to a source close to the student's family, the reason for the arrest could be due to his criticism of the political situation in Iran and the killing of Qassem Soleimani on social media.

VOA cannot independently confirm the reasons given for the arrest of this Baloch student.

This informed source told the campaign that on Thursday, six uniformed officers went to Yousef Singla's house and first evicted the 18-year-old student's family from their home. After searching the house, they arrested him in handcuffs and a shackle.

According to this informed person, after his arrest, security forces informed Mr. Singla's family that they would transfer him to the Konarak Intelligence Directorate.

The US State Department also says that the Iranian regime has arrested thousands of protesters, civil activists, and representatives of workers and other trade unions in the last two years.

The United States has repeatedly and on various occasions condemned the violent confrontations and widespread repression of protesters and civil activists, as well as the repeated and persistent violations of the rights of Iranian citizens by the ruling regime in that country.
