“Erika Kirk”, wife of “Charlie Kirk”, forgives her husband’s killer in tears

“Erika Kirk” announced at a grand memorial service for Charlie Kirk, while crying, that she forgives her husband’s killer.

The memorial service for Charlie Kirk, American conservative political activist and founder of “Turning Point USA,” who was assassinated last week at a university in Utah, was held at the “State Farm Arena” with the attendance of about one hundred thousand people. At this ceremony, which was also attended by Donald Trump, his vice president JD Vance, cabinet members, and even Elon Musk, the emotional speech of Erika Kirk, Charlie’s wife, moved the attendees.

While tears were streaming down her face, Erika shocked everyone and said: “That young man, that youth who had been crucified, our savior told us: O Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

She added: “Charlie always believed that forgiveness can stop the cycle of hatred and open a new path for life.” These statements caused many of the attendees to burst into tears.

Erika Kirk, referring to her Christian faith and her husband’s teachings, said: “I forgive this young man because that is what Christ did and that is what Charlie did. The answer to hatred is not hatred. The answer we know from the Gospel is love, and always love. Love for our enemies and love for all those who have hurt us.”

She also emphasized in an interview with the New York Times that the decision regarding the punishment of “Tyler Robinson,” the 22-year-old suspect in Charlie Kirk’s murder, is the responsibility of the judicial system and not her. Erika added: “I do not want this man’s blood to be on my hands.”

This came as Donald Trump had previously called for the execution of Robinson, and prosecutors in Utah also requested the death penalty in the first trial session.

Erika Kirk, who has advanced education in theology and hosts a religious podcast, said at the end of her speech: “My husband wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life. I forgive him, because that is what Christ did and what Charlie did.”

After Erika finished speaking, Donald Trump called her on stage and embraced her. He told the crowd: “Charlie would certainly be very proud if he heard people glorifying God today.”

Charlie Kirk’s memorial service ended with this prominent message of “forgiveness and Christian love,” a message that his wife considered the key to countering hatred.
