Widespread Islamist Infiltration in British High-Security Prison and Threats Against Inmates to Convert to Islam

“The Spectator” reported on the widespread infiltration of Islamists in a British high-security prison and threats against inmates to convert to Islam.

The Spectator magazine, in a report on the high-security “Frankland” prison in Britain, stated that extremist Islamists have infiltrated the prison and are forcing inmates to convert to Islam. Inmates who refuse to convert to Islam are targeted by threats from Islamist inmates. As a result of these threats, some inmates have been forced to move to segregated sections away from Islamist inmates to protect their lives.

The aforementioned prison is a high-security facility for men located in the city of Durham in the Teeside region and houses dangerous terrorists and murderers. Ian Huntley, a child killer in the “Soham” case, is also imprisoned in this facility.

“Tony Wyatt,” one of Britain’s prominent criminal lawyers, said in an interview with The Times: “The number of members of Muslim gangs in the prison is so large that it is no longer possible to control the problem. The reality is that segregation units have become a refuge for people who are targeted by these extremist gangs. Inmates who stand up to Islamist gangs, who are unwilling to change their religion or who oppose them, are transferred to these sections to save their lives.”

The Spectator magazine, referring to Tony Wyatt’s statements, wrote: “The fact that prison officials have lost control over inmates to this extent is shocking and could have deadly consequences.”

A person named “Simon” who was a former inmate at Belmarsh prison (Belmarsh is another British high-security prison that houses a large population of Muslims and terrorists) said he was not surprised to hear this news.

Simon, who was released from Belmarsh prison in 2020, told The Spectator: “Islamist gangs had widespread power and influence at that time as well. I remember a young inmate named Sudesh Amman who was influenced by extremist Islamists during his sentence. They had noticed that Amman was not intelligent and was looking for a purpose in his life. I was concerned about this and reported it to a senior prison officer. Amman was released from prison on January 23, 2020, and just two weeks later, after attacking two people on the streets of Streatham in London and injuring them with a knife, he was killed by police.”

Simon added in other remarks about this prison: “The situation at Belmarsh was different. Muslim inmates there protected a criminal who had committed heinous assaults. No Muslim inmate cared what crime their co-religionist had committed, because religion was more important than anything else. Also, if someone attacked a Muslim inmate, all of them would take revenge.”

Although the British Prison Service has described the claims raised about this high-security prison as false and denied these reports, according to The Spectator’s report, for those aware of the nature and extent of Islamist threats in British prisons, these claims seem completely credible.
