533 Child Abuse Cases Recorded in Mazandaran

Statistics from the Mazandaran Province Welfare Organization show that in the first six months of the current year, 533 contacts related to child abuse were made to the social emergency service located in the provincial center at the number 123, of which 305 cases involved girls and 228 contacts related to boys’ abuse were registered.

The Deputy for Social Affairs of Mazandaran Welfare stated in this regard: Of the 553 child abuse incidents recorded throughout the province, 231 cases were physical abuse, 44 cases were sexual abuse, 43 instances of psychological abuse, 203 cases of neglect and carelessness, and 12 children experienced combined abuse. In all these cases except combined abuse, the number of girls is higher than boys.
