Banishment Order and Eleven-Year Prison Sentence Issued for ‘Ayoub Gheibi-Pour’

“Ayoub Gheibi-Pour Hajiyour” was sentenced by the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court to eleven years imprisonment and banishment.
Ayoub Gheibi-Pour, born in 1373, was arrested by security forces in Ahvaz during the nationwide protests of 1401 and transferred to Shiban Prison. He was released from Shiban Prison on 24 Bahman 1402 after posting bail of 3 billion tomans.
He was previously sentenced by the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court to ten years of banishment to Kerman Prison on charges of “intentional arson, destruction of public property, and propaganda against the state.” However, this ruling was overturned by Branch 20 of the Supreme Court and was referred back to the same branch for re-examination. Another charge against him included setting fire to a statue of Qasem Soleimani.
“Sajjad Chater-Sefid,” the defense lawyer for Ayoub Gheibi-Pour, stated in a post: “Following the overturn of the verdict at the Supreme Court and the referral of my client’s case back to the same branch, the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court sentenced him to ten years of banishment to Kerman Prison for the charge of “enmity against the state” and one year imprisonment for the charge of “propaganda against the state.” This verdict is subject to appeal.” It is worth noting that during his entire detention, he was deprived of medical care.
Nearly two years after the onset of nationwide protests, innocent individuals continue to be sentenced to harsh verdicts by the Islamic Republic government on baseless charges of “propaganda against the state” and “enmity against the state,” with many facing execution. These sentences, issued without credible evidence or documents against Iranian protesters, have provoked widespread reactions across the world.
