“Jerry Paylai”: Violence and Suffering in Gaza Must End

“Jerry Paylai”, Secretary General of the World Council of Churches, emphasized the need to end the endless cycle of violence and suffering in Gaza.
The World Council of Churches is an assembly whose founding churches were primarily European and North American. Today, however, most of its member churches are in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East, and the Pacific. Currently, 352 churches are members of this council.
According to Religion Media Center, Dr. “Jerry Paylai”, Secretary General of the World Council of Churches, following his six-day trip to Palestine, met yesterday in Ramallah on the West Bank with Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority.
Dr. Paylai, in addition to meeting with Mahmoud Abbas, held talks with other religious and political leaders including “Isaac Herzog”, President of the Zionist regime. Mahmoud Abbas presented recent reports on the war situation in Gaza to Dr. Jerry Paylai at this meeting and emphasized the immediate cessation of Israeli attacks on the shelters of Muslims and Christians and the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza. He also announced the Palestinian Authority’s readiness to negotiate with Israel to establish lasting peace for all people.
Dr. Paylai, who is a member of the United Protestant Church in South Africa, also emphasized international and regional efforts to stop the war in Gaza.
