“Mohammad Nourizadeh” Sentenced to Two Additional Years of Imprisonment

“Mohammad Nourizadeh,” a prisoner in Evin Prison, has been sentenced to two additional years of imprisonment.

According to the Iran Human Rights Organization, the aforementioned ruling was issued on Monday by Branch 28 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court under the presidency of “Mohammad Reza Amouzadeh Mehradjing.”

Mohammad Nourizadeh is an opponent of the Iranian government who was arrested in late August 2019 during a protest gathering in Mashhad. Regarding the case opened for him, he was sentenced to ten years in prison and is currently serving his sentence in Evin Prison. Additionally, several other cases against him have been reopened in recent years.

Now, Mohammad Nourizadeh, in addition to serving the ten-year sentence, has been sentenced to two additional years of imprisonment. According to an informed source, in a court ruling issued on Monday, corresponding to June 3 on the Persian calendar, by Branch 28 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court and served to Mr. Nourizadeh, he was acquitted of the charge of “assembly and conspiracy with the intent to disturb national security,” but was sentenced to one year of imprisonment for the charge of “propaganda activities against the system” and to one year of imprisonment for the charge of “destroying prison property by breaking windows.” In total, he has been sentenced to two years of imprisonment.
