Removal of Trustees of Islamic Centre of England Charity Affiliated with Khamenei’s Office

The UK Charity Commission announced on Wednesday, April 8, that it has removed the trustees of the charity “Islamic Centre of England,” affiliated with the office of Ali Khamenei, from their positions.

The Commission also stated that it appointed a temporary manager last week to oversee the charity’s activities at this center.

Reports indicate that investigations and assessments of the “Islamic Centre of England” began in 2022. These investigations were launched due to concerns about how the center was being managed and following a warning from the Charity Commission.

The Charity Commission stated that the trustees of the “Islamic Centre of England” failed to properly fulfill their legal duties and responsibilities, and were negligent in the preservation and maintenance of its assets.

Meanwhile, Tom Tugendhat, Security Minister at the British Home Office, welcomed the Charity Commission’s action to remove the trustees of the “Islamic Centre of England” charity.

The British Security Minister said in this regard: “In recent months, I have frequently warned about the threat that Iran poses to us in Britain.”

Tom Tugendhat added: “The actions of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and its agents have endangered the lives of citizens in our country.”

This British Home Office official emphasized in a video message on Twitter that according to reports, the director of this center is appointed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.

During recent protests, calls were made for the closure of the Islamic Centre of England.

This center, also known as the office of Ali Khamenei, organizes various religious ceremonies for Shiites in Britain.

Hashim Moussawi serves as the Supreme Leader’s representative at this center.
