Let’s Transform Our Grief Into Motivation for Building a Free and Prosperous Iran

Nasrin Shakermī wrote: Let’s transform our grief into motivation for building a free and prosperous Iran.

Nika Shakermī was among the casualties of the nationwide protests in September 2022. She fearlessly stood at the forefront of the demonstrations and was actively present. At the age of 17, she was tortured and killed by the suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic system.

Now that we are approaching the first anniversary of the popular revolution uprising, bereaved mothers who lost their children in the nationwide protests at the hands of the regime’s forces have called on the Iranian people through social media messages to rise up again for a free Iran.

Nasrin Shakermī, Nika’s mother, is among those who called for public participation in the first anniversary of the revolutionary uprising by releasing a statement. She wrote in her message: “Now that we are approaching the anniversary of this freedom-liberating movement, I ask everyone to transform our grief and pain, instead of mourning and lamentation, into hopeful motivation for building a free and prosperous Iran.”

May it be that with Iran’s freedom, the blood shed for justice is avenged and the souls of our dear ones rejoice in Iran’s freedom, and let all the people of the world understand that blood shed for justice will not be trampled upon.
