The Significance of What Happened in Saudi Arabia and China’s Appeasement of Iran

The Silk Road from Beijing to Riyadh no longer passes through Iran. The route has changed!

The visit of China’s potential emperor “Xi Jinping,” the general secretary of the Communist Party and the undisputed leader of politics, military affairs, and economics, marked the beginning of a new era of diplomacy in the Middle East. In a move that seemed like a coup against the West and the Islamic Republic, at the Riyadh meeting with most of the key Arab leaders, China announced an alliance that would shift the balance of power in its favor. At this meeting, China sought assurance about the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program. They also demanded that the Islamic Republic refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of regional countries.

Since China and Saudi Arabia have numerous problems with the United States, including human rights issues, Taiwan, oil prices, and others, this has brought the two countries closer to each other.

Why China wants to ally with Saudi Arabia and sideline Iran is clearly discernible. Over this 43-year period since the beginning of the revolution, China has plundered the best shrimp in the world from the Persian Gulf, along with all mineral resources and everything else it could get its hands on, leaving nothing in Iran. Now, after 43 years and considering its need for oil, gas, petrochemicals, and other resources, it wants to find more allies in the region. Since the supply of these resources comes through the island countries bordering the Persian Gulf, and these islands need security support, China has allied with Saudi Arabia by providing this security and sidelined Iran.

Also, since relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States are not in good condition, Saudi Arabia is also forced to expand its relations with other countries, including China and Russia, which are two major world powers. These are among the most fundamental reasons why China and Saudi Arabia—which appears to be Iran’s enemy—signed a long-term pact. This agreement took place while the Islamic Republic considers three disputed islands to be an integral part of Iran.

Unfortunately, America, with its failed policies and daily political survival, without statecraft based on long-term logical and wise thinking, has become a victim of the green movement alliances between countries. Considering that they themselves have billions in economic interests, their strong ally Saudi Arabia is now acting against American interests, causing the small door that was supposed to open from behind to become a large gate for China’s entry into Saudi Arabia and access to all Arab countries, thus shifting the balance of power.

It must be noted that this is the greatest political event that all Western governments either did not dream of or underestimated the possibility of, and that was China’s separation from Iran.

The condemnation of Iran in an official statement by Riyadh and Beijing is highly significant. Therefore, some officials in Iran, behind closed doors, realized what knife they had been stabbed with, though this is not the first knife. Iran did not expect that China, despite the long-term strategic agreement it had made with Iran, would quickly be drawn toward Saudi Arabia, which is Iran’s serious rival and enemy in the region.

China, which has until now been nourished from the extensive table of Iran’s oil resources, now wants to benefit from the extensive oil table and hot markets of Arab countries to use for its own goods.

Iran, which had wielded a sword against its own people and other nations over this 43-year period, now faces China’s betrayal and disloyalty, driving that same sword completely into Iran’s throat.

Therefore, Iran is alone and has no friends except Venezuela, which is also for the sake of inviting plundered dollars, and the others are Beijing and Putin.

But the noteworthy and significant point is the news from the U.S. Treasury Department. The U.S. Treasury Department announced to all banks in the world that from the beginning of 2023, it will only accept new banknotes. This means that everyone must convert pallets of black dollars to new dollars.

If this is true, converting old dollars to new ones would be virtually impossible for the country of Venezuela and Iranian officials who are fleeing to that country. As a result, Iran has been hit hard from all sides.

After the events of recent days and the unfriendly statements by China’s president against Iran, China is now seeking to appease Iran. After “Xi Jinping’s” visit to Saudi Arabia, “Hu Chunhua,” the vice premier who had been sidelined, traveled to Iran to seek appeasement. This visit occurred at a time when the Islamic Republic had “summoned” the ambassadors of Western countries 15 times due to criticism of the suppression of Iranian protesters, but contrary to this action, the meeting with China’s ambassador in Tehran was not described as a summons.

The question is: what is China’s objective in this appeasement, pushing Iran away with one hand while pulling it forward with the other? It appears that these games reflect China’s intention to plunder Iran’s remaining wealth, which it is now planning with its new partner, Saudi Arabia.
