Zahra Sarv Transferred from Evin Prison to Taleghani Hospital in Tehran

Hrana News Agency – Zahra Sarv, a political prisoner, was transferred from Evin Prison to Taleghani Hospital in Tehran due to deteriorating physical health.
According to Hrana News Agency, the news organ of human rights activists in Iran, Zahra Sarv, a political prisoner, was transferred from Evin Prison to Taleghani Hospital in Tehran.
An informed source told Hrana: “Ms. Sarv was transferred from Evin Prison to Taleghani Hospital due to her deteriorating condition and was admitted to the ear, nose, and throat department of the hospital. The level of infection in her blood has increased significantly, and according to doctors, there is a possibility of serious damage to this prisoner’s heart and lungs.”
This political prisoner was returned to Evin Prison on the 19th of Shahrivar this year despite the incomplete treatment process and only after one day of hospitalization.
It is worth noting that Zahra Sarv was deprived of hospital referral on the 29th of Mordad and the 5th of Shahrivar despite previous appointments due to excuses by prison authorities.
Previously, an informed source regarding this prisoner’s illness told Hrana: “Some time ago, Zahra contracted COVID-19 in Evin Prison; the prison health department mistakenly diagnosed her illness as a common cold and she was deprived of treatment related to her illness for a long time. After a long period, she was transferred to ‘Shohada Tajrish Hospital’ and after tests it was determined that the infection caused by COVID-19 remained in her body due to lack of timely treatment. Eventually, her treatment was carried out with the prescription of several antibiotic pills, and the delay in treatment led to her incomplete recovery. The family of this prisoner, who has been deprived of receiving the third dose of COVID-19 vaccine due to the continuation of her illness, is concerned about the spread of this infection to Ms. Sarv’s heart and lungs.”
Ms. Sarv was arrested by security forces in early Mehr last year and transferred to the Sepah Intelligence detention facility, known as Ward A-1. She was transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison in mid-Aban after the completion of interrogation procedures.
Ms. Sarv was finally sentenced by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, to 7 years of imprisonment for charges of “assembly and conspiracy to spread propaganda against the system.” With the application of Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, 6 years of imprisonment is enforceable in her case.
This political prisoner had previously been arrested and convicted. On the 16th of Farvardin 1400 while serving a previous 3-year prison sentence in Qarchak Prison in Varamin, she was granted leave and in Khordad of the same year, after returning to the execution unit of Evin Prosecutor’s Office, she learned of her early release.
Zahra Sarv, daughter of Ghayyadan, was born in 1365. Ms. Sarv was active in cyberspace under the name “Mahfar”.
