Armed Attack on Azerbaijan Republic Embassy in Tehran

An armed attack on the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan took place this Friday morning, January 27th (Bahman 7th).
Following the announcement of the approval of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps being placed on the terrorist list, the Iranian government had issued warnings that Europe would suffer consequences from this action.
The first terrorist attack following the release of this news occurred this Friday morning, January 27th. This armed assault targeted the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to videos circulated on social media, it appears this attack was carried out with prior planning, as the security officer sitting in the booth at the embassy entrance showed no reaction to the armed assailant’s attack.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan confirmed this attack. It should be noted that immediately after this incident, the personnel of the Iranian embassy in the Republic of Azerbaijan evacuated the embassy, which serves as further evidence of prior planning for this terrorist attack.
In this terrorist attack, one person was killed and two others were wounded. The deceased has been identified as the “Head of Embassy Security.”
However, the government that has always conducted its affairs through lies, in this case also fabricated another falsehood for news agencies without regard for CCTV cameras. Mohammad Shahryari, the head of Tehran’s criminal court, stated in this regard that the attacker, believing his wife was present at the embassy, carried out this armed assault.
In another statement, Hossein Rahimi, the commander of Tehran police, told some media outlets that the armed individual entered the embassy along with two small children and opened fire. However, in footage recorded by security cameras, no trace of two children is visible during the armed attacker’s entrance.
Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, also called this attack terrorist and said: “We demand that this terrorist act be investigated as quickly as possible and those responsible be punished. A terrorist attack on diplomatic missions is unacceptable.”
There are contradictory statements regarding this terrorist attack, which suggests a pre-planned scenario. It is highly likely that the Islamic Republic government, by orchestrating this scenario, intended to manipulate public opinion in hopes of slowing down the pace of the popular revolution.
