Son of Saeed Madani: Judiciary Has Not Allowed Lawyers Access to the File

About a month has passed since the arrest of Saeed Madani, an Iranian sociologist, yet the conditions for any legal representatives to access his file have not been provided, and apparently the interrogation process is still ongoing.
Yasmin Madani, his daughter, in an interview with the Emtedad news agency, stated that her father has been accused of gathering and conspiracy, as well as propaganda activities against the system. According to her, Mostafa Nili, Mr. Madani’s lawyer, has been unable to obtain permission to access the file, and another lawyer’s request for access has also not yet been resolved.
Saeed Madani’s son also told Emtedad that his father spent three weeks in solitary confinement following his arrest, and in the past month, his family has had only one in-person visit of 30 minutes with him.
The Mehr News Agency announced on the twenty-sixth of Ordibehesht the arrest of Saeed Madani and stated the charge against him as “meeting with suspicious foreign elements and transferring their instructions and operational guidelines to some elements with a record inside the country.”
Saeed Madani was arrested and convicted several times on political charges between 1994 and 2011.
