Death of Iranian Child by Law Enforcement Officers; Summons and Arrest of Perpetrators

The military prosecutor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province confirmed the death of a 5-year-old child as a result of gunfire by law enforcement officers in Iranshahr city, and announced the summons and arrest of the offending officers. According to him, the case of the officers who opened fire in this incident is under special investigation at the military prosecutor’s office of Sistan and Baluchestan Province. On Monday, the 20th of Ordibehesht month, following gunfire by military forces in Iranshahr city, a 5-year-old child was killed. Subsequently, a group of Iranshahr citizens gathered in protest against this incident, which turned violent following the presence of security forces.

According to HRANA news agency citing ISNA, the military prosecutor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province confirmed the death of a 5-year-old child as a result of gunfire by law enforcement officers in Iranshahr city, and announced the summons and arrest of the aforementioned officers.

Alireza Mousavi stated in this regard: Following receipt of news of the death of a five-year-old child during gunfire by law enforcement officers in Iranshahr city, investigations were launched at the military prosecutor’s office.

He added: The officers who opened fire in this incident were summoned and, after preliminary investigations to examine various aspects of the incident, were arrested.

The military prosecutor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province emphasized: The case is under special investigation at the military prosecutor’s office of the province.
