Suicide of a Teenage Girl in Dishmook

A 14-year-old female student residing in the city of Dishmook in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province committed suicide by hanging on Sunday, November 1st, and lost her life. The share of Iranian teenagers in annual suicides has been reported by the Legal Medicine Organization to be more than 7 percent.

According to Hrana News Agency, the news organ of the Iranian human rights activists collective, on Sunday, November 1st, 1399, a 14-year-old female student residing in the city of Dishmook committed suicide by hanging and lost her life.

The identity of this female student “Raena Sanayei,” 14 years old, has been confirmed by Hrana.

An informed source told Hrana about this teenage girl’s suicide: “Raena Sanayei committed suicide on Sunday by hanging herself at her parents’ home in Dishmook. After the family discovered their daughter’s attempt, they contacted the emergency services and a helicopter was sent to transport her to the hospital in Dishmook, but after being transferred to the hospital, she lost her life. She was ultimately buried in her hometown this morning.”

The family of this teenage girl, after their presence at the hospital, stated that their daughter committed suicide due to not having a smartphone and inability to attend online classes. However, local sources claimed that the issue was related to her forced marriage; nevertheless, Hrana is still unable to independently confirm any of these claims.

Dishmook is one of the cities of Kohgiluyeh County in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province and is located in southwestern Iran.

The share of Iranian teenagers in annual suicides has been reported by the Legal Medicine Organization to be more than 7 percent.
