By Revolutionary Court Ruling; Two Citizens from Piranshahr Sentenced to Total of Ten Years Imprisonment

Abbas Sadeghi and Omer Khagzad, citizens from Piranshahr, were each sentenced to five years imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of the city. These citizens were arrested on May 16 and June 1 of this year respectively, and after some time were released upon posting bail.

According to Hrana news agency reporting from the Kurdistan Center for Democracy and Human Rights, Abbas Sadeghi and Omer Khagzad, citizens from Piranshahr, were each sentenced to five years imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of the county.

In this report, the charge against these citizens has been stated as cooperation with one of the opposition parties to the system.

Omer Khagzad was arrested on Sunday, June 1 of this year by security forces without presenting a court warrant and accompanied by beatings, and was transferred to one of the security detention centers in Urmia for interrogation, and finally was temporarily released in early August upon posting bail.

Likewise, Abbas Sadeghi was arrested on Friday, May 16, 2020, and in early July after completing interrogation procedures was temporarily released from one of the security detention centers in Urmia upon posting bail.
