Attack on Nada Naji, Among Labor Day Detainees in Qarchak Prison

Nada Naji, a civil rights activist who was arrested on International Workers’ Day and is imprisoned in Qarchak Women’s Prison, has been attacked twice in the past 24 hours.

Jamal Ameli, the husband of Ms. Naji, reported on Twitter on Saturday, July 6, that this civil rights activist was beaten once by a prisoner and once by prison personnel and was transferred to the medical ward.

According to him, Nada Naji has experienced vision problems as a result of these attacks and blows to her head.

Among the women arrested during Labor Day gatherings are Nada Naji, Marzieh Amiri, and Atefeh Rangriz, who have been spending nearly 50 days in Qarchak and Evin prisons.

The killing of Alireza Shirmohammadali, a political prisoner in Fashafuyeh Prison, at the hands of two inmates accused of murder has raised concerns about the security and safety of political prisoners in Iran.
