Amnesty International: Two 17-Year-Old Teenagers Secretly Executed in Shiraz

Amnesty International announced on Monday that Mahdi Sohrabi-Far and Amin Sedaqat, both 17 years old, were secretly executed on Thursday of last week in Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz.
These two teenagers were arrested in 2017 when they were 15 years old and, according to Amnesty International, were charged with “rape” in “an unfair trial.”
According to this report, marks of whipping are visible on the bodies of these two teenagers, indicating that they were whipped before being hanged.
Amnesty International also reported, based on information it received, that these two teenagers were unaware of the execution until the last moments.
Philip Luther, one of the officials of Amnesty International, condemning these executions while emphasizing that the authorities of the Islamic Republic “once again disgracefully proved that they have no hesitation in killing children and violating international human rights laws.”
Iran, along with Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Pakistan, are the only countries that execute “offenders” who committed crimes before the age of 18, but the number of such executions in Iran is higher than the others.
