At Least Seven Iranians Killed in Israeli Attack on Aleppo

Reports indicate that at least seven Iranians were killed during an aerial attack on Aleppo. Israel has confirmed through its foreign minister that the attack was carried out by the country’s air force, with Iranian forces stationed in Syria being the target.
According to data from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in London, the primary target of Israel’s latest attack in the final hours of Wednesday, March 27, on Aleppo in Syria was an ammunition depot and a military base of Iranian forces in the region, with at least seven Iranians killed in the strike.
Nirab Military Airbase was also targeted by Israeli military aircraft. It is reported that this airbase is also used by Iranian military forces.
Meanwhile, Israel’s foreign minister also confirmed that the attack on Aleppo was carried out by the country’s air force. According to the Jerusalem Post, “Israel Katz” said in an interview with an Israeli radio network that Israeli fighters attacked Iranian targets at Aleppo airport, stating that the Iranians themselves know that Israel carried out the attack.
SANA, the official news agency of the Syrian government, released news of the Israeli army’s aerial attack on an industrial complex in the northeastern part of Aleppo in the final hours of Wednesday.
France’s news agency reported on Thursday, March 28, citing Syria’s official state media regarding the Israeli army’s aerial attack on Aleppo, stating that the strikes caused damage and losses but resulted in no fatalities.
The French news agency reported based on eyewitnesses in Aleppo that the attacks caused power cuts in several areas of the city.
Israel has repeatedly stated that it is concerned about the growing influence and military presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Syria. The military of this country and Benjamin Netanyahu had repeatedly announced in recent weeks the continuation of attacks on Iranian and Hezbollah positions in Syria.
This comes while the news of the attack on northern Aleppo on Wednesday evening has not yet been officially confirmed by the Israeli military.
The French news agency also referenced the timing of this possible attack. The report states that these strikes occurred two days after the announcement of the U.S. government’s decision to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
The Trump administration recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights on Monday, March 25.
