Gang rape of 10-year-old girl in Herat

Officials of Herat Central Hospital report a gang rape of a 10-year-old girl in the province.

Rafiq Shirazi, spokesperson of Herat Central Hospital, told media that the girl, who was subjected to gang rape by a group of individuals, has been transferred to the obstetrics ward of the hospital by security forces.

Doctors at the hospital say that the girl was transferred to the obstetrics ward due to severe bleeding.

The 10-year-old girl, who has psychological problems, was transferred to the hospital by security forces from the Anjil district area.

Meanwhile, Herat police announced the launch of investigations into the arrest of those responsible for this incident.

The gang rape of this young girl has been met with reactions from women’s rights activists in Herat.

This is the first case of sexual assault in Herat in the current solar year.
