Mahshahr Petrochemical Company Employees Hold Protest Against Privatization and Layoffs

Dozens of employees from Mahshahr Petrochemical Company held a protest gathering in front of the company.

These employees, who participated in the gathering along with their families on Sunday, June 3rd, protested against the transfer of the company to the private sector and the increase in employee and worker layoffs at the company.

The privatization process of petrochemical companies in Iran began nearly a decade ago, and these companies have carried out layoffs and workforce reductions in several cities.

In recent years, Tabriz and Fajr Mahshahr petrochemical companies have witnessed several protests and strikes by workers in opposition to workforce reductions and non-payment of benefits.
