Prince Reza Pahlavi Protests Regime Forces’ Attack on Peaceful Demonstrations in Kazerun

Prince Reza Pahlavi, son of Iran’s last shah, has protested the Islamic Republic government forces’ shooting at protesting citizens in Kazerun.
Prince Pahlavi wrote on Twitter: “The deviant and occupying cult of Iran has committed another crime, this time in Kazerun. In these moments and minutes, my heart beats for you, my brave compatriots in Kazerun.”
In his posts, he refers to the Islamic Republic of Iran as a “deviant cult.”
Prince Reza Pahlavi added: “I am certain that your steadfastness and courage will bear fruit, and our Iran will soon embrace freedom and democracy.”
His reaction comes in response to the shooting and assault by security forces on peaceful protests in Kazerun.
On Wednesday night, it was reported that protests by Kazerun residents on Wednesday, Ordibehesht 26, were met with violence by police and security forces, who opened fire on the demonstrators.
Images were also circulated on social media allegedly showing casualties and wounded in Kazerun.
Kazerun residents began a new round of protests on Wednesday in opposition to a plan to divide this county.
Since Wednesday morning, protesters gathered in one of Kazerun’s main squares, chanting slogans to express their opposition, including: “Gaza is supported, Kazerun is betrayed” and “Shame on us, shame on our national media.”
Demonstrators are protesting a plan whereby parts of Qaemiyeh and Nowdan from the Kuhmare district are to be separated from Kazerun county and transformed into a new county called Kohchinar in the country’s administrative divisions.
Kazerun residents had also protested in recent days, and their gathering on Tuesday, Farvardin 28, turned violent with police intervention.
