Trump once again strongly attacked Iran

In Jerusalem, the US president strongly attacked Iran in support of the Israeli government. He expressed optimism about the possibility of peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

Donald Trump, at the end of his visit to Israel, once again criticized Iran's role in the Middle East in the strongest terms. In a speech he gave on Tuesday afternoon (May 23), he assured Israeli leaders that Iran would never obtain a nuclear weapon while he was in office.

Right-wing Israeli circles, along with the country's government officials, expressed satisfaction with the United States' new stance towards Israel.

Trump endorsed the ideological slogans of the Israeli government, saying: "Jews have an eternal right to Israel. The Jewish people have an ancient connection to this land that goes back thousands of years to the time of the kingship of King David."

He emphasized: "My government will always stand by Israel."

Trump stated that he had constructive discussions with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Benjamin Netanyahu that gave him hope about the possibility of peace in the Middle East.

He added that he knows that establishing peace in the region will not be easy, but he said it is possible "with effort and sacrifice."

Trump will leave Israel for Rome on Tuesday evening and meet with Pope Francis at the Vatican on Wednesday.
