Türkiye: 400,000 Syrian refugees have returned to their country

Türkiye says 400,000 Syrian refugees have returned to their homeland, and now 3.58 million Syrian refugees remain in Türkiye.

During the Syrian civil war and the expansion of ISIS territory in the country, about four million Syrian refugees poured into Turkey, one million of whom were from the Idlib region alone, which has been displaced since December last year due to increased attacks by Bashar al-Assad's forces, with Russian air support.

Following these attacks, the Turkish army entered the border areas with Syria and cleared an area 120 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide of the Turkish-Syrian border from Kurdish militia forces.

Türkiye had announced that it planned to resettle 3.6 million Syrian refugees in the region.
