Jordan develops tourism industry to attract Christian tourists

The Jordanian government, with its symbolic biblical sites, intends to develop the tourism industry to attract as many Christian tourists as possible.
According to Le Monde, the French Association of Catholic Pilgrim Leaders held its annual congress in Jordan for the first time in 85 years. Jean Marielouvert, auxiliary bishop of Bordeaux, was also present at the congress, and said at the opening ceremony that holding the congress in Jordan was an important event.
He said at the opening ceremony: "Jordan is a country where the footprints of Abraham, our common father of faith, Moses, the great prophets, and John the Baptist can be seen, and holding this congress will increase the number of Christian tourists and religious travelers to this country."
Three years ago, King Abdullah II of Jordan invited the Association of Catholic Pilgrim Leaders to hold its annual congress in the country in order to develop religious tourism and attract maximum Christian pilgrims and tourists to Jordan. The congress was also held in Lebanon, Palestine and Israel in 2005 and 2011.
Now, the Jordanian government has also introduced symbolic biblical sites such as the supposed baptism site of Jesus Christ and Mount Nebo to attract Christian tourists in order to develop the country's tourism industry.
