Cyberattack on gas stations in Iran

Following a cyberattack on fuel stations in Iran, services at 70% of gas stations were disrupted.
According to media reports in Iran, on Monday morning, December 17, the supply of gasoline and diesel in most provinces faced problems, with Jalil Salari, Deputy Minister of Oil, declaring that this disruption was a conspiracy.
Reza Nawaz, spokesman for the Iranian Gas Stations Association, did not rule out a cyberattack, but stated: "The disruption in the supply of gasoline is nationwide and a technical problem." He emphasized that all experts and stakeholders are working to resolve this disruption within the next few hours.
Regarding the disruption at gas stations, a hacker group called "Predatory Sparrow", which had previously carried out attacks against Iranian online systems, claimed responsibility for the disruption this morning on its X-Network account and Telegram channel.
Reza Nawaz, spokesman for the fuel stations association, added: "There is no shortage of gasoline and diesel, and there is no price increase on the agenda. This disruption is a technical problem, and we ask people not to visit gasoline and diesel stations unless they are in urgent need of gasoline for the time being until the problem is completely resolved."
