Domestic violence: Murder of a woman by her husband in Tonekabon

A man who had killed his wife and fled three months ago was arrested by Damavand police and transferred to Tonekabon city.

According to the HRANA news agency, citing Iranian Broadcasting System (IBS), a man accused of murdering his wife was arrested by Damavand police.

The police commander of Tonekabon city said in this regard: "Following the murder of a woman on October 2nd of this year, intelligence police detectives arrested the suspect in the case through intelligence measures and police investigations."

Mohammad Sadegh Shah Nazari added: "Given this person's full confession to the murder and his escape as the main suspect in the case, efforts were made to identify the suspect's hiding place until, after about 3 months, they succeeded in identifying the trace of this fugitive suspect in Damavand County, Tehran Province."

He continued: "With the identification of the defendant's hideout and judicial coordination, the defendant was arrested in a surprise operation and transferred to Tonekabon city."

Colonel Shah Nazari added: "During the police's investigations and technical interrogations, the defendant confessed to killing his wife and, after filing a case, was handed over to the judicial authority for legal proceedings."
